DID YOU KNOW...?

The Blue Lagoon was formed in 1976, somewhat by accident. The geothermal power plant nearby created a pool of water as "waste," but by 1981 people were bathing in it regularly; the pool had developed a reputation for having healing powers. By 1987, the Blue Lagoon became an official spa, with the geothermal power plant providing continuous recycling of the water, as well as a research and development center. The R&D center focuses on bio-technology, dermatology and marine cosmetics. People come from all over the world to bathe in the spa in the hope of reducing or even curing skin diseases, psoriasis chief among them. Researchers at the Blue Lagoon are constantly trying to learn how the waters in the Lagoon help these diseases and what can be done to further their healing properties. The Blue Lagoon is currently one of the most-visited places in Iceland, and one of the most iconic.

It's also supposed to be a great place to chill and go for a warm swim if you feel so inclined.

Sw1tchBl4de from Deviant Art helped with the coloring, and did an AMAZING job at it. Without his help biweekly updates would not have been possible. I can't stress enough what a great artist this guy is and the level of work he put into helping me with these. You should definitely go check out his work!
