As a kid, I always hated it when adults could see right through a fib. It wasn't fair! Fortunately I grew up to be quite a devious bugger. Caitlin's dad knows she's always up to SOMEthing, so he isn't fooled easily. The look of sardonic amusement on his face in the third panel says it all.
